Miramar, Florida
"We welcome the community to come visit us and return every week."

Gearing up for its second season, Memorial Hospital Miramar, in partnership with the City of Miramar, is bringing healthy eating from nature’s bounty to the community’s table by hosting its weekly Farmers’ Market, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. every Sunday, starting September 22 through May 18, 2014.

Staged at Memorial Hospital Miramar, 1901 SW 172nd Avenue, the Farmers’ Market will offer a variety of locally grown fruits and vegetables, fresh baked artisan breads, hot brewed organic coffee and chilly fruit smoothies – among other goodies. Vendors also will sell fresh herbs and flowers, gourmet sauces, hand-made organic soy candles, soaps and essential oils; vegetarian and gluten- free products and much more.

“Last year’s Farmers’ Market was everything we wanted it to be for our community. It was a gathering place for friends and family, an opportunity to learn more about their neighborhood hospital, and a way to promote healthy lifestyles,” said Leah Carpenter, CEO, Memorial Hospital Miramar. “We welcome the community to come visit us and return every week.”

Miramar Mayor and Commissioners, who enthusiastically support the City’s Green Initiatives, agree with Carpenter.

“The Market’s new season can’t start soon enough! The sense of community at this market goes beyond our Miramar boundaries. It’s now a tradition in our region!” Miramar Mayor Lori C. Moseley said. “We are hearing so many success stories from those inspired to try out their dream as a new micro-company, and from those with a new awareness for healthy living.”
