"We hope this Farmers' Market becomes a gathering place for our community to come and enjoy time with their families and neighbors."

Memorial Hospital Miramar, in partnership with the City of Miramar, is bringing healthy eating from nature’s bounty to the community’s table by hosting a weekly Farmers' Market, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. every Sunday, starting September 23.

Staged at Memorial Hospital Miramar, 1901 SW 172nd Avenue, the Farmers' Market will have more than 50 vendors. It will feature a plethora of yummy scents and flavors from just-picked locally grown fruits and vegetables to fresh baked artisan breads; hot brewed organic coffee and chilly fruit smoothies. Also, baskets will brim with fresh herbs and flowers, gourmet sauces, hand-made organic soy candles, soaps and essential oils; vegetarian and gluten free products and much more.

“Part of our mission is to improve the health of the residents we serve, and the Farmers' Market at Memorial Hospital Miramar is a great opportunity to help promote healthy lifestyles and community well being,” said Leah Carpenter, CEO, Memorial Hospital Miramar. “We hope this Farmers' Market becomes a gathering place for our community to come and enjoy time with their families and neighbors.”

In addition to natural and organic foods, shoppers can expect a new, exciting and freemenu each week of interactive cooking shows, health and fitness demonstrations and gardening workshops.

Miramar Mayor Lori C. Moseley, who helped create the city’s ongoing and abundant community garden in 2010, agrees with Carpenter.

“Promoting healthy living is a mission we have in common with Memorial Hospital Miramar. This Farmers' Market is one more quality-of-life reason to live, work and play in our beautiful and progressive city!” Moseley said.
