"We know that fewer than 5 percent of Press Ganey clients reach this high threshold and stay there, so it’s a tremendous confirmation of Memorial’s system-wide commitment to our Service Vision of providing Deeper Caring, Smarter Healthcare."

Four Memorial Healthcare System hospitals have received Guardian of Excellence Awards™ from Press Ganey Associates, Inc., the national performance improvement firm that measures patient satisfaction and experiences to improve healthcare delivery.

The Guardian of Excellence awards recognize top-performing healthcare providers that have consistently reached the 95th percentile – meaning that they score higher than 95 percent of other organizations – for patient satisfaction, employee and physician engagement, or clinical quality performance. Press Ganey makes the awards annually, based on each reporting period over the course of one year (May 2012 through April 2013).

Press Ganey honored the following Memorial hospitals:

Memorial Regional Hospital – Guardian of Excellence Award in Patient Satisfaction for Inpatient Behavioral Health

Memorial Regional Hospital South – Guardian of Excellence Award in Patient Satisfaction for Outpatient Services

Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital – Guardian of Excellence Award in Patient Satisfaction for Inpatient Pediatrics and Outpatient Services

Memorial Hospital Miramar – Guardian of Excellence in the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Health Plans Survey (HCAHPS), administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)

“Having four of our facilities merit this recognition from Press Ganey is a source of great pride for us,” said Frank V. Sacco, FACHE, President and Chief Executive Officer, Memorial Healthcare System. “We know that fewer than 5 percent of Press Ganey clients reach this high threshold and stay there, so it’s a tremendous confirmation of Memorial’s system-wide commitment to our Service Vision of providing Deeper Caring, Smarter Healthcare.”

Memorial Healthcare System has been a leader in providing high-quality healthcare services to the South Florida community for 60 years. Today, it is the second-largest public healthcare system in the nation and is highly regarded for its exceptional patient- and family-centered care.
