Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital Hires Two South Florida-Based Pediatric Neurologists

Diana Martinez, MD, and Heidi Torocsik, DO, two pediatric neurologists with established practices in Davie and Weston, have joined the medical staff of Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital as employed physicians.  Both Drs. Martinez and Torocsik will now see patients in Hollywood (1150 N. 35th Ave. Suite, 520) and Miramar (1951 SW 172nd Avenue, Suite, 412).

Dr. Martinez graduated with a medical degree from Universidad Central de Este, School of Medicine, in Dominican Republic. She completed her pediatric residency at Shands University Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fl and fellowship in both adult and pediatric neurology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital prior to starting private practice in 1996. Dr. Martinez, who is bilingual in English and Spanish, is board certified in pediatrics and neurology with special qualification in child neurology. During her career, she has taught residents and medical students in pediatrics, adult and pediatric neurology, and has lectured on pediatric neurology topics. She is affiliated with the American Academy of Pediatrics and Cuban Pediatric Society. Her medical interests include headaches in pediatric patients, neurogenetics and developmental disorders.

Dr. Torocsik received her medical degree from Nova Southeastern University and completed an internship at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a pediatric residency and fellowship in child neurology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Torocsik is board certified in child neurology.  Dr. Torocsik has been in private practice for approximately 14 years. Throughout that time, she has taught medical students and residents. Her medical interests include neonatal neurology and epilepsy.
