Governor Appoints L. Kenneth Barnett to South Broward Hospital District Board

Barnett Succeeds Former Board Member, Sara E. Wolfer

Governor Rick Scott recently appointed L. Kenneth Barnett to the Board of Commissioners that governs the South Broward Hospital District. Barnett succeeds former board member Sara E. Wolfer, who leaves the Board after dedicating close to nine years of service. Barnett’s appointment runs through June 2016.

Barnett, 67, joins the South Broward Hospital District with decades of experience in insurance litigation and defense. He is an attorney at the Law Office of L. Kenneth Barnett in Hollywood, a member of the Broward County Bar Association and the Florida Bar Association. Barnett received his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Pennsylvania in 1967 and his law degree from the University of Florida in 1970. Barnett is a past member of the Knights of Columbus at Nativity Catholic Church.

“I look forward to working with this dynamic group of professionals,” said Barnett, who is married to Carol Camp Barnett and has two sons, Andrew and Brian. “I’m pleased to be given the opportunity to positively impact the lives of many residents in the South Broward Hospital District.” 

Barnett joins the other members of the South Broward Hospital District Board of Commissioners: Chairman Hobel Florido; Vice Chairman Jose Basulto; Secretary/Treasurer Laura R. Miller; Commissioner Alfredo Avalos; Commissioner Kathleen A. Durham and Commissioner Albert C. Jones.
